Mr. Likongwe studied Banking Law at Master of Laws level. His work in the Auction Holdings Group involved negotiating multi-million US dollar, Rand, etc loans from local and international banks for purposes of tobacco purchases, large building projects, new business ventures, etc. Likongwe & Co has also negotiated loans for large building projects for its clients and has drawn up and vetted various loan documents, mortgages, debentures and other security documentation.
Likongwe and Company has represented lending institutions in drawing up and registering security documents for loans granted to Malawi based companies. Some of Likongwe & Co’s retained clients are banks and micro-finance institutions. We give them legal advice on loans and securities. We have drawn up loan forms and loan documents that our clients use as standard forms and documents. We have also advised our clients on claims by disgruntled customers, some of whom have complained to regulatory authorities. We have also conducted seminars for directors and employees of our clients on various aspects of microfinance, employment law and corporate governance.
